CHILDHOOD= CAREFREE

Childhood was synonymous with bubbling laughter, running through the streets , skipping ropes, cycle races, summer holidays at the granny's, skies full of stars on cool summer nights.... Are our children enjoying the same carefree ways of our childhood?? I don't think so. What we see in our children is an impatience to grow up. It is not that they are not full of promise. Challenge them and you see the entire spectrum of abilities rise...
And Wisdom, you sure see that too.. however what is lost is innocence, the wonder that we, as children, experienced. That is sad. and the loss of innocence has given rise to cynicism.Well.... hope that the wisdom they have, also teaches them to have clean fun.. the glee one felt in the surge of the swing, the swing of the kite and the rush of air through the hair while cycling.
I AM SURELY GONNA TRY TO GIVE THAT PIECE OF HEAVEN TO MY CHILDREN.

"Come to me, Rumi implores, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times"..
The problem with us is that we feel we are on a path of spiritual progress where,  if we slip once, we can never ever make it... Rumi, tells us to have heart and start right where from we slipped.. the path is irreversible.. the only thing is we may take a while to reach the final destination..

One day I want to paint a night sky full of stars...I want to paint the cool breeze, the profound peace and the timelessness one feels while gazing at the night sky...I want to paint the satiny softness of the night soothing my soul... But I guess my desire to share that feeling with you all may be left unfulfilled owing to my glaring lack of ability to paint!!!

So, the next best thing for me to do, is to ask you all to experience this inexplicable moment once in your life.. to hold your loved one's hand and feel the presence. Presence of ... timelessness, life,God.

Rumi had said, "Outside ideas of right doing and wrong doing there is a field.
I'll meet you there." This field that Rumi is talking about is the place called NOW! NOW is the place where you are free from your past and future.. Now is the place where the mistakes of your past or the worries of your future do not exists.  If you do not let these mistakes or worries affect you in the present, then this present is the field where you will find the joy of timelessness.

Breaking the old patterns

how does one change a characteristic one possesses ? I mean the tendency to fear happiness.. the urge to look back .. the need to expect something wrong when everything is going just fine.. HOW DOES ONE CHANGE THIS DREADFUL HABIT??? One becomes accoustomed to expect failure, unhappines and fears or gets surprised if opposite happens... No solution on the horizon.. HELP!
I guess help will come from inside of me.. with awareness comes scrutiny, with scrutiny comes acceptance and with acceptance comes resolution of our problems..
But they say.. only awarenes is voluntary but acceptance is a blessing one receives from God!!! No amount of wishful prayers will bring the grace of God upon us..

Hope to better self

As life unfolds, I am struck with a feeling of regret or remorse about precious moments of time lost or wasted in sadness, laziness and in search of direction, but then I realise that after all, I am  WORK IN PROGRESS!!!!
Then it is prudent to look back in reflection and evaluate , whether  I am an improvement of my old self or have regressed . However, caution be excercised, lest one gets lost in the retributions and blaming.
But this looking back helps one in ascertaining the road travelled and gives you the choice of changing the direction of life or move on the same path.

my tryst with meditation!!!

In the stillness of the morning, i mean stillness and not dullness or numbness that comes with lack of sleep!, you really have no one to blame but yourself about the noise, chaos that you hear from inside of you... The sheer speed and frequency of random thoughts in your brain is disturbing. All the lessons, tips about meditation seem to fail. The calm lake of your mind resembles a sea with repeated tides rumbling on the shores..
I have spent countless mornings troubled by the inability to be still... the tides of thoughts never seem to cease.. the more I try to quieten the noise, the noisier it becomes!
Then I realised, the trick is to watch the thoughts ripple the lake and not worry about making them go away!WOW!
Soon it will become a hobby of sorts! to watch your thoughts... till that stage, it is a struggle.
